Life. Love. Louisville.

Collected

06.19.19 | Life

How long does it take you to collect your thoughts?

Pain is pain but it becomes a drain with your mind, heart, and soul if you let it fester in dormant water too long. The polarization creates a mental stumble, even if you make a sincere effort to walk with one foot in front of the other in unison.

I’m jot the most graceful creature but I know if I stumble into a pondering pond made of quicksand I’ll drown regardless as to the depth of the situation.

With age comes the lessons to assist me in looking up whilst walking in the general direction of the life I’m building. Regardless as to how anyone defines me, I keep my mind and heart checked by trusted souls that align with the same beliefs and values of being a decent human being.

With time comes truth as reality doesn’t hide very long.

While life may be a journey, it’s challenges keep your expectations real because you know that a shallow pond can drown you just the same as the depth of the Mariana Trench, you may wonder what business I have telling you how to exist and the truth is, I don’t but I can share how I get through my days; the highs, the lows, and the moments in between them.

I’ve learned that I have to keep my chin up and my mind in a positive space I will survive any situation of depth.

If that moment becomes too intense and drags me to the bottom of emotion I can exist as birds do. I’ll look up and breathe in for ten seconds, hold for ten, and then release it. Only dipping in water to cool off or get my fuel.

Know this: If a hummingbird can flap their wings over 2,000 times in 30 seconds, you can push through anything.
