You are not adrift in this world. There is no old you, it is only the current state of your being. My sweet girl, there was an evolution in you that you have overlooked. There’s no amount of soul searching, wandering, nor discovery that will take you back in time to the person you once were and you should rejoice with this knowledge. Look at how tenacious you are. You survived things that you never thought possible because you evolved without knowing it… if that isn’t a miracle, what is?
What sign do you need to realize the blessing that is within your life?
I look back at the person I was twenty years ago, ten years ago, five years ago, a year ago, a month ago, a week ago, and even an hour ago. Life flies and rarely takes a break long enough for me to catch my bearings but I’m glad I don’t have them at certain moments. They’d anchor me to the pain of chronic illness or the pain of the struggle in life with sequential feelings that attach to me from absorbing the emotions for my friends and family.
It doesn’t mean that I’m unaware of the impact of not stopping; quite the contrary… I realize all of spectrums. I’m merely grateful that while life throws a lot my way, I’ve learned how to stay focused on what I need to do to get me through my next hour, day, week, month, year, et cetera.
If you’re lost, take a piece of unsolicited advice from me: Stop searching for what was and realize who you are today and celebrate it.
Thank your higher power for the life you have, the reasons you have it, and if there is something you don’t like about it, have the courage and gumption to change it.
Grace bequeaths grace.
Never ending searches will lead to mounting sadness.
Revelations lead to growing contentment.
Celebrate who you are today instead of mourning who you were yesterday.
