The definition of classic is someone or something of the highest rank, that acts as a stable model or standards, has lasting worth, is typical or relates to ancient Greece or Rome.
Stable is an interesting word as it’s been a talking point for many of my friends in terms of balance and stability throughout this crazy journey we call life. It’s a journey beyond ourselves when we’re trying to get into a healthy space in our minds and hearts.
I started reading “The Untethered Soul” by Michael A. Singer. While I’m fresh into it, I must mention that the second chapter has been an interesting read as it’s providing me with insight about. Actually, one sentence of it is …
“To attain true inner freedom, you must be able to objectively watch your problems instead of being lost in them.”
Applying this to my life as I type this and my right eyeball is twitching from the amount of stress I’m holding in. I can’t have a glass of wine because my stomach would revolt and I don’t take anything for anxiety because I want to manage my life instead of it managing me. I have to take enough medications for everything else so the small stuff (i.e. stress) must find it’s natural little way to cope. So I turn to writing, lucky you. *Wink, wink. or is it twitch, twitch.
Much like a kettle boiling, if I don’t write the steam will come out and make a crazy noise or in my case, the words stay within festering while I’m searching for a place for me to fit in on my blog, my friends, my family, et cetera.
I have to absorb the reality that nothing ever fits all the way because I can’t control every detail. I have to let it be and work with it instead of seeking the knowledge of why everything is what it is or why people do what they do.
Things just are.
People just are.
Take it back to the basics or the classics in this case of my latest style obsession. If you’ve followed me for long, you know I’m a blazer girl at work. Only lately I’ve played with wearing them on date nights and dinners with my friends. Classic combo for the win.
