Have you ever been in a relationship where someone is controlled? Not by you nor you by them but in one where they’re controlled by an outside force?
I may be the only person that raised their hand to that one but I bet I’m not as alone as it may feel.
An avatar is something visual used to represent non-visual concepts or ideas, or is an image that is used to represent a person in the virtual world of the Internet and computers.
In my case, I’m an avatar. I’m a social media manager that has 12 to 15 different voices that I have in one day, not including my own. But the control for me is in the voice I give to each brand and how it relates to their clients and desired demographical items of consumers they wish to attract. The only common factor behind all of them is that I give each brand a positive voice.
If you’re a living and breathing avatar being controlled by a negative person than you can easily break the chains that are holding you down, you just have to make the decision to remove the controller from your life. It’s the only way you’ll ever be able to live a positive and joyful life. Rather than fight with them, let them learn that they don’t own you when they watch you walk away. If you fight about it instead, Let them go from your life faster than they can say one more negative word to you to hold you back.
After you leave you have to learn to create your own voice and positivity is the biggest challenge you’ll ever face. Why? It’s easier to be miserable than it is to be happy.
Life happens and it’s not a gentle experience for anyone. We’re all getting by the best we can but it isn’t an excuse to be sad or to be around anyone that is mean to you. They may tell you that you’re weak or say things in sad attempts to make you feel as low as they live but they’re foul words are reflections of them not you.
Hurt people, hurt people.
You’re not them, you’re you and you deserve the chance at being happy but you can’t be happy if their poison is touching your life in any capacity. You’re unknowingly giving them control over you, your voice, and your life as you transform into their avatar.
Have your own voice.
Live your own life.
Love yourself enough to walk away.
