The sun will come out tomorrow or so I sing within my mind as I smile thinking of this childhood anthem I loved long ago.
It’s interesting that we’re conditioned to believe that the new day awaits us and within that day the sun will rise, the birds will chirp, and butterflies will play as they dance in the air with one another.
Lovely idea and reality when we can get past the four walls our mind lives within that can take us to another neighborhood where the sun exists but isn’t always acknowledged. No birds chirp. No butterflies dance. It’s the upside down version of grandeur we can exist within when we choose it.
The light has to be a choice. Acknowledging our existence as it is and accepting ourselves as we are is mandatory for survival. Survival doesn’t mean that everything is kittens, sunshine, puppies, and all the pizza a girl could eat. It simply means that you know what needs to be strengthened and what needs to be diffused.
Whether it’s an illness, a work issue, a love issue, a family issue, or a whatever is wrong with you in life issue; it’s all just issues we face. No one has a monopoly on pain or fear; which means pain and fear are relative to the person that is experiencing it.
You As Eleanor Roosevelt said: “You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience by which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.”
I found the light of courage today. I pray it’s here to stay when I need it most.
