Fashion Finds: Floral + Flirty

Life · Louisville | 04.14.17

The spring season is alive and well. Every where you look you can see things are ready blooming as Mother Nature is starting a new season. From the ultimate romantic date night dress to the petal power of peep toe sling backs, I’ve got the skinny on these bold blooms and where you can find them!

First things first, I am currently obsessed with Mahonia Studios flowers curated by Bridget Davis and this super sweet clutch from Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse comes in handy this season for all of your bold blooms. Neutral accessories are best to balance the colors; which gives those flowers all the light, spotlight to be exact.

Moving on up … To some wrist candy by Bourbon and Boweties at Dress and Dwell. Under $50 which doesn’t break the bank too hard. It’s a love it or leave it purchase. Clearly I went with “Love it” and purchased this bangle. I’ve worn it throughout spring, Thurby, Oaks, Derby, and last summer and clearly it’s making it’s rounds back into my wardrobe this spring and summer so it was worth the purchase to me.

What goes with a blue seersucker blazer? Blooms. Lots and lots of them. Jacket from Von Maur a few years ago, however you should still search high and low for this preppy must-haves.

Why save the blooms only for your bod? Bring them into your home as often as your wallet can spare. There was a study with Rutgers at The State University of New Jersey on the impact flowers can have on you, here are their findings:

– Flowers have an immediate impact on happiness. All study participants expressed “true” or “excited” smiles upon receiving flowers, demonstrating extraordinary delight and gratitude.
– Flowers have a long-term positive effect on moods. Study participants reported feeling less depressed, anxious and agitated after receiving flowers, and demonstrated a higher sense of enjoyment and life satisfaction.
– Flowers make intimate connections. The presence of flowers led to increased contact with family and friends.

My love for this dress right here runs deep. I found it on Pinterest eons ago and was on a mad hunt that lead me right back to my online source of majority of things in my house and on my bod. The online mega store, Amazon.

Love the dress below? Get the look on Amazon: FANCYINN Women V-neck Lace Patchwork Irregular Hem Casual Chiffon Dress Blue M – Heads up: I purchased this in a Small but the pickings are slim in that size so I linked it here for more selection of a medium. Also, you can always have a dress taken in if it is too big. If you recall, I did so with my wedding gown when it was only available in a size 10.

LBD. Little Black Dress, be still my heart. The off-the-shoulder dress perfect for girls night out, date night, day of fun, or whatever your sweet heart desires: ASCHOEN Women’s Sexy Off Shoulder Skater Dresses Asymmetry Hem High Low Sexy Party Dress Black S Belt from Altar’d State. Shoes from Amazon:Nine West Women’s Emilyna Synthetic Dress Pump, Dark Pink Synthetic, 8 M US Nine West peep-toe sling-backs with floral design give me all the Cold Play + Beyonce “Hymn for the Weekend” vibes to last me a lifetime. They may be my latest and greatest shoe obsession. But I digress as I jam out to this song with all the Friday feels one can muster.

Let’s skip right into my latest and greatest fashion purchase. It’s not floral but it’s all flirt so it makes up for that in it’s curve hugging fit. I love these so much. Need a date night or girls night look that’s a little different than you’ve seen around? I have this to share with you. Get yours HERE: Womens Classic Long Fitted Overalls MEDIUM SMALL I wish I could tell you where I found those leopard pumps but it’s escaping me. My bad! All I can say is that I lean towards statement heels as you can probably tell. What’s your favorite statement piece? Whatever it is, wear it and wear it well, my dear!

✨ 𝓉𝑜𝓅 𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑒 ✨ Compared to ✨ 𝓉𝑜𝓅 𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑒 ✨ Compared to other years, 40 posts in 2020 is scarcity at its finest when compared to other years of me posting almost every day. The time away has allowed me to get through one of the darkest years, so many of us have faced. While I’ve historically turned to my keyboard as a release of hardships, I’ve been unusually reclusive as I’ve focused on a silent health challenge, family, friends, work, and school as a guiding light. ✨ 2020 was a year I never really wanted, but I learned much about myself and tapped on inner strength to push through. ✨ Therefore I must be grateful for the lessons I’ve learned. 🙏 2021, please be kind. The world and I need it. #thankunext #surviveandthrive #ciao2020 #topnine

• 𝓂𝑜𝓇𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝒹𝓈 • Today I choose to show up as the best “me” I can be, much like how the ocean shows us how to be. ☀️ The empowered me that battles my autoimmune diseases with radical approaches to heal all within me. 💪 The confident me. The me that handles both anything and everything the world tosses at me. 🌎 The me that faces the world with eyes of possibility, creativity, and solution. 🤩 The me with a heart full of hope and a head full of beautiful dreams. 🥰 The me that floods others with kindness and love. 🌊 The me that knows my strength is my best asset because it paves the way for all of my dreams, much like a powerful currant like the waters can be. 💛 The me that knows it will be okay. Because this life is much like water, it never stays the same as it ebbs and flows. It’s a mystical cycle that reminds us how small we are compared to the big picture of this journey called life. 🤗 How refreshing is that ocean breeze. • 𝓈𝒽𝒶𝓉𝓉𝑒𝓇𝑒𝒹 • #writersofinstagram #wanderer #transformationtuesday #bellaoflouisville ✨
{ 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒷𝒾𝓇𝓉𝒽𝒹𝒶𝓎 𝒸𝒽𝑒𝒸𝓀-𝒾𝓃 } It’s my birthday week, and while there is so much happening in our world that impacts each of us in a multitude of ways, there is still so much I’m grateful for. • I have a loving husband, kids, mom, extended family, and my fur babies. • I’m in remission with my autoimmune diseases. While I still have bad days, the good ones overshadow them. • I’m growing my career with education to continue chasing my dreams. • I have a loving roof over my head, cozy clothes on my back, and inner peace about things I cannot control. • It might not sound like much, but for me, life has given me more than I’ve ever prayed for. • I’ve “socially distanced” myself IRL and digitally with COVID to focus on family and my faith. I’m re-emerging into the world with a renewed sense of contentment and optimism. I’m ready to shed the 37-year-old shell to joyfully leap into 38 with all the hope I can muster. ✨ Cheers to this wild journey we call life! 🥃 #anotheryearwiser #cheers #celebrateeveryday

So much comes into my mind when I think of the growth we've both shared, witnessed, and supported. The world may keep us distanced, but you are in my mind and heart every day.
