Sitting on the floor opening cards and gifts that I delayed opening in my attempt to live in the moment this weekend. I even took a mini break from social media because of the chaos of things to celebrate all of it.
Opening gifts is wonderful, right? Who doesn’t love them. And sentimental presents feel even better.
I opened cards and gifts on the floor and tried to absorb the words, the thoughts it took to put it all together.
The gifts included all the things that make me, me … Quotes, a darling coffee mug, animal themed blankets, Kate Spade everything, more quotes, flowers, and a few bee themed masks to try and tame my withdrawls from Snapchat’s bee filter.
But in all of these gifts the thing that mattered the most is the time my husband, family, and friends took to make me feel loved.
… Que sweet tears of joy …
As much as I tried to hold them in, the faster they came out. I’m a true logophile, lover of words, and with each note and card, the more my heart ached and I knew my cast has been created.
It’s said that when we expire, our life will flash before our eyes. What’s beautiful about all of it is that we’re the director, producer, casting agent, and we have the lead role because the cameras are our very own eyes and our soul is capturing the moments.
Beautiful, right?
Be a light maker and brighten up your world. Ask yourself if you expired today what would you hope to see? If it isn’t, get out of your own way and create a life worth watching.
Write out your goals, dreams, hopes, and what it would take for you to get to those moments. Also, be sure to stay aware of the people around you and how they make you feel. If someone creates more negatives than positives in your life, give them and yourself the gift of letting go because they’re not meant to be in your final scenes.
So much to write but it’s worth it.
After you get it all on paper, set your intention, hold your head high, guard your heart, and trust that the universe will have your back because already does.
Life is a gift. Live that way.
