I recently found Inner Warrior. It’s an inspiring boutique in Louisville that sells a variety of yoga, meditation, and alternatives to support a healthy mind, body, and spirit.
I’m so grateful my yoga instructor / light making friend, Stephanie Wheeler, took me there to help me boost some inner glitter a few months ago when I needed it most.
I fell in-love with these beautiful bracelets and went online to find more information about the company that made them.
I found so much good & glitter from With Good Intention.
Thank you for the interview, Kathleen! You’re a lovely human being and I’m grateful for the good that you possess, create, and remind us all of the good we carry within.
1) How did With Good Intention begin? How did you start the company?
My name is Kathleen Sweeney and I am the owner and designer of With Good Intention, LLC. I create inspirational and yoga inspired jewelry that is designed to carry with it, both intention and meaning.
I have a degree in Psychology and just recently completed my Masters in Criminal Justice and Behavior Analysis. I am currently focusing my efforts on With Good Intention full-time, as the business has grown large enough for me to do so. Before venturing into the small business world, I worked in behavioral health for about three years. Then as time and life unfolded, I discovered the path that led me to forging a deeper connection with practicing yoga. Through the deepening of that connection, I was also drawn to the eye-catching beauty of mala beads and other inspirational jewelry. I began creating my own and found that I really enjoyed the process.
After receiving the encouragement of those who are dear to me, I invested more of myself into developing a brand of yoga jewelry that not only offers inspiration, but also exists as a representation of the things that are not always physically visible. My jewelry is meant to be worn as reminders of the intentions we carry within, to be taken with you throughout your day, and to inspire change. A favorite quote of mine that has truly resonated with me since the first time I came across it is, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” – Gandhi. It reminds us that we have the ability to literally change the world. As monumental as that sounds, it is rather simple. It is something that starts right now, right here, with each and every one of us.
With Good Intention, LLC was established in 2014, operating solely through Etsy. Since then, WGI jewelry is now available for purchase in 6 retail locations, five locations in the Philadelphia area of Pennsylvania and one location in Louisville, Kentucky. The locations include yoga studios, clothing boutiques and gift shops. Plans to continue expanding the With Good Intention brand are currently in the works; so keep your eyes and ears peeled!!
2) I love the company’s name! How did you pick it?
Choosing the name of my company was something I put a lot of thought into and made a point not to rush. I wanted it to be representative of what my company is all about. Every piece is crafted with extensive love and of course, good intention. Looking farther down the road, the name of my company will also speak to its larger mission: doing good for others.
3) What do you hope to do with your company?
A very large part of what With Good Intention is also centered on is giving back and paying it forward. As With Good Intention grows, so does the ability to actually effect change. To use this platform to make a difference is the ultimate goal and what I have envisioned from the very beginning. I currently offer a variety of “Giving Back” pieces of jewelry in which a portion of every sale is donated to the organization the pieces were designed for.
4) What’s your mission?
My mission is to put as much good out there as possible. Every interaction we have with one another is an opportunity to do this.
5) What gives you inspiration?
My inspiration comes from my family, faith, love of music, nature and my continuously growing appreciation for yoga. Honestly, inspiration can come from anything. It is all in the way you open your eyes, heart and mind to experience.
6) What do you hope to cultivate with your social following?
I hope to leave a positive impression that will inspire others to put good out there too. Whether it is through my jewelry, a photo, a quote, or words of my own; if my company can have a positive effect on someone, even a small one, I am satisfied. I have also recently launched a brand ambassador program, which aims to spread the With Good Intention brand and message via likeminded individuals who share similar values and are passionate about what they do, individuals who live with good intention on the daily.
7) What are three words you would use to describe your company?
Honest, Inspired, and Meaningful.
