We all remember Charlie Sheen’s “Winning!” viral videos, right? Of course you do. We all do. It’s burnt into our minds and we can’t “unsee” his interviews nor “unhear” his voice as he was saying it and all of the insults that followed.
If he wouldn’t have been off his meds and on a drug spree and if he didn’t verbally attack everyone he did, would we think he was so crazy?
The debate could go either way. But what if he were sober and just said what he was doing in life and then added the self-esteem mega-lifting statement that he’s “Winning!”? Would he be looked at as crazy? I think not.
Who doesn’t like winning at anything? The occasional competition over who can make it to the stop sign first while walking with my step-kids to successfully completing my to-do list is fulfilling in positive, fun ways.
We’re all “Winning!” in one way or the other. Through small victories like winning in our fantasy football leagues to big victories like battling an illness, it’s all relative. Each day a new challenge is presented.
Realizing this makes me wonder if we all started to look at our daily challenges as mini-victories we haven’t completed yet?
We’re all our own worst critic. Which makes showing ourselves we can do something (anything) is the best feeling in the world. It’s like saying “Hey girl, I told you that you could do whatever you set your mind to. Hells yeah to you. WERK!”
The moral of the story is that you can do whatever you want if you’re daring enough to try. Show yourself what’s up and keep “Winning!”
