Let’s Toast to the Repeal of Prohibition on Friday at the Brown Hotel! – Our Nation’s Favorite Holiday –
This is a tasting event full of Beer, Bourbon, Wine, Craft Spirits, Cocktails, & Brandy. Oh, and food vendors too! Attire: Casual to classy. 20-30’s Garb is encouraged. $40 per person. Louisville Magazine will host a tasting celebration with a Prohibition/Speakeasy theme on Friday, December 5th from 6pm – 9pm at The Brown Hotel. The event will showcase local Bourbon, Craft Beer, Brandy and Wine. Food vendors will also be present at this event. Entertainment will be the band Billy Goat Strut, and the New Lou Swing Dance Community. The 2nd issue of Swig magazine publishes in December. Not only will the event attendees be among the first to see the new issue, everyone will receive a free copy.
With an increase interest in Kentucky’s own craft spirits and beers, the event will celebrate the best we have to offer with over 30 vendors including many from the Urban Bourbon Trail, and the Kentucky Guild of Brewers. Entertainment for the evening comes from the popular The Band Billy Goat Strut, plus New Lou Swing Dance Community will be to dance and teach you a few moves.
In addition we are partnering with APRON, their ties to helping local restaurant owners and staff make them a perfect fit. A portion of the proceeds will benefit them!

APRON INC. was founded in 2011 by a group of individuals with ties to the local restaurant community. Apron supporters include owners, servers, chefs and others concerned about our local independent food and beverage service workers. They realize that independent restaurant employees may be susceptible to financial distress in times of crisis.
The mission of APRON INC. is to provide temporary, limited financial relief to professional food and beverage industry workers in the Louisville, KY metro area who work at locally owned establishments and are experiencing financial distress due to illness, injury or other issues. Food service professionals who have suffered an accident, family emergency, criminal act committed against such person or other catastrophic event are eligible for assistance.
