Run here … Run there … Do this … Do that … Remember this … Remember that …
Life never slows down for any of us. There is always so much to do just to keep up with our day-to-day lives which can make it difficult to find time to volunteer. But the positives of volunteering can be profound for you, your family, your city and sometimes even the world.
We’re all focusing on getting through the holidays; what family functions we are going to, work holiday parties, friend holidays parties, et cetera. Then we start to make lists of all the things we need to buy for each party, what cookies and baked items we need to make, how much wrapping paper is needed, how much wine is needed, and for some of us, what are we going to wear?
But social media may be coming to the rescue and I am going to raise awareness for it locally as a social media ambassador. “The Unselfie Movement,” a campaign in which people take pictures of themselves and their favorite charitable cause, is spreading like wildfire around the Web. #GivingTuesday is a movement that celebrates and encourages charitable activities, volunteer opportunities and advocacy to support non-profit organizations.
To easiest way for you to get involved in this movement, tag it with #GivingTuesday and #UNselfie. Upload these pictures to your social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+) from now till Tuesday, December4th.
