My guy and I have the desire to see the world … Wanderlust. Since I am a writer / blogger, I am going to share our travels on my blog. Enjoy!
Day 1: We arrived at The First Luxury Art Hotel Rome after 20 hours of travel time … From delays to cancelations, the flight schedule was a bit stressful for my guy but I was thrilled to be on the way to Rome so it didn’t bother me too much. I felt like the donkey next to the Derby horses; I was there to calm him by my presence.
The beautiful part of traveling is that you never really know what’s going to happen. Embrace it.
After we arrived we had a driver meet us and took us to the hotel. The transportation was set-up through the hotel by request.
Upon arriving we checked-in and were given a tour of the hotel. It similar to 21C, a museum hotel in the states. When we reached our room I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of light coming in from the window. Since it’s in the middle of buildings I didn’t expect any natural light.
I’m obsessed with natural light so I had to take a picture and bask in the sunlight.
Since it was a Sunday, majority of restaurants are closed. The hotel desk manager recommended a restaurant called Life. The menu has a variety of Italian dishes and pizza. I ordered a pizza with cheese, black truffles, and mixed meat. My guy ordered ravioli.
The pizza was delicious. Thin, flaky crust with light sauce and had oil dropping off … Heavenly. We also ordered a bottle of chianti; my Italian grandfather’s favorite wine. The total check was around 90 euros.
We celebrated day 1 with a short dance in the street … Well, I danced, I think he just smiled. And we walked to get gelato before returning to the hotel to go to sleep.
Day 1 was wonderful.
