The Canvas

04.10.18 | Life

In this magical box of cosmetics from NYX Professional Makeup, I found that there’s nothing you won’t find to help you create a gorgeous canvas… a flawless one is meant for filters, and this isn’t a moment for them since this post is about confidence that is painted upon your face by your two hands with some phenomenal products.

I fell in love with the following products to create the close as I can “flawless” canvas.

I used the following and it’s just the surface, the details shall come later in another blog post.

But in the meantime, here’s the canvas recipe:

Primer:

Inspired by honey’s golden glow, NYX developed a primer that neutralizes the appearance of discoloration and redness. Their innovative light reflective gold flecks create a luminous look that will help keep your skin looking radiant all day. A.K.A. no filter needed if you like the au naturale look!

Concealer:

Choose the right concealer. Concealer is most commonly used to cover up two skin care woes: under-eye circles and blemishes, but it can also be used to camouflage scars, birthmarks, and other issues that cause uneven skin tone. *Eyes getting bright just thinking of covering my freckles!

Now available in 12 more shades to accommodate an even wider range of skin tones, NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer effectively covers imperfections, discoloration and under-eye circles without ever looking like you’re the missing Jackson Pollock canvas. I personally tried the “Light” and “Medium” tones but the medium is much more my speed as it blended easier with my olive-ish skin tone.

Contour:

Contouring works by mimicking natural shadow, or at least that’s what it is meant to do. YouTube and Kim Kardashian didn’t invent contouring; sad but true. It’s been around since the beginning of filmmaking and I grew up knowing it as the words broker and highlighter. Less is always more for me but I don’t enjoy looking over-done and plastic so mannequin look lovers this may be a less glorious blog post to read.

At any rate, the Wonder Stick is NYX ultimate dynamic duo! One side for a brilliant highlight, the other for a sleek contour. The creamy application is amazing for blending just blend well, babes!

Stay tuned for the next NYX Professional Makeup Post is live and ready with ALL the glitter; face and body!

Canvas ready… seeking color.
