Looking through each shot I took this weekend made me smile from the blessing of each moment.
From sunsets at Forecastle to every single person in my family holding our newest addition Jacob; there’s a whole lotta joy going around in life.
Sometimes we just have to look for it through the blurry details like this picture.
The story behind this magical moment is that it captures the second I had officially met my nephew and held him in my arms for the first time.
Earlier in the day I greeted him like an extatic child at the zoo. I made cooing noises at him and took pictures that are barely recognizable to represent human life … It’s obvious that I’m not a great photographer when I get excited. I was also overcompensating because I was unable to hold him nor hug his mother while they were in recovery.
Finally the wait was over and I couldn’t stop smiling. I looked at every inch of his face and I immediately checked his hands and feet. His little tiny toes are so cute and everything about him is perfect. I was instantly overcome with pure love.
Although, I loved him before I ever met him and I’m in complete awe of the wonderful joy he brings just from his being alive. He’s a gift. A gift of light and goodness that still lives on earth.
He was born on Friday and in this small timeframe my heart is forever imprinted and my hopes for him are so high. I can only imagine what he’ll accomplish in life.
It makes me wonder, how many of us are gifts to others? If someone loves you, I hope they tell you and make you feel it often.
Life’s short and we don’t have as much time as we think. The trick to beating time is to live in it just as you are.
I’m amazed and moved by the amount of happiness one life can bring so many and my time with him is fleeting every single day. It’s a great reminder pf how important family and love is.
I hope anyone that reads this post has someone or something that shines a light of love on them.
If not, I pray you push yourself to find it.
