There are a wide variety of diets that can help heal your body when battling various diseases. I have Crohn’s Colitis, Hashimoto’s and polyps. I’ve been open with my health journey to be a light in a rather dark place of battling silent diseases that many people don’t understand.
Some days are good. Some days are horrible. But they’re both days that I’m able to live so I want to make the most of them even when I’m at my darkest moments.
The elimination diet I’m on has been hard for me so I’ve enlisted assistance from meal prep to recipe sharing. They’ve both made life so much easier. Below you’ll find a recipe to possibly help you with your diet. Even if you’re not battling an autoimmune disease, this recipe can be helpful to your health.
The ingredients are the most important part. Not the final product but what goes into it. Just as the saying goes, “Happiness is the journey, not the destination.” Health is the journey, not the destination. To keep you on your toes, I’m not including the image of the the shake once it’s been made because it’s not the important part. The ingredients are the focus so I’m keeping it there. With out further ado, I give you this delicious and nutritious recipe.

Strawberries + Blueberries: This can be hard for you to digest. It’s on the list of foods I can eat with my elimination diet from Cleveland Clinic. It does not make my stomach upset at all but I have read that it can so listen to your body and consume accordingly.
VSL#3 is a potent probiotic medical food that delivers the highest available concentration of beneficial live bacteria of any probiotic in the world. Glutagentics features three key ingredients – glutamine, deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL), and aloe gel. They are designed to support the integrity and healthy function of the gastrointestinal lining. A healthy gastrointestinal lining is important for proper digestion, immune function, and overall health.
Organic Hemp Powder: Extracted from hemp seeds, protein is one of the only plant foods to contain 18 primary amino acids, making it a complete source of protein. Hemp protein is also rich in omega-3 essential fatty acids as well as several essential vitamins and minerals, such as iron, zinc and magnesium. While hemp protein is a well-rounded source of several essential nutrients, perhaps the strongest nutritional benefit is the complete amino acid profile. | If you suffer from bloating, gas or irregularity, hemp protein may help improve your digestive function. This is because hemp protein contains two nutrients that are critical for optimal digestive health: fiber and amino acids.
Organic Cacao Powder: The Mayan superfoood in its raw form contains a good source of fiber, iron, magnesium, calcium, sulfur, copper, zinc, potassium, oleic acid (monounsaturated fat), and Vitamins E, B2, B1, B5, B3, B9. These vitamins and minerals are important to help support the body in everyday function. The fiber helps to stimulant digestive enzymes. A healthy digestive tract will also lead to a strengthened immune system. I like the Navitas Organics brand; which is 100% cacao powder, USDA organic, non-gmo, vegan, kosher and gluten free.
