Louisville is the home of the Kentucky Derby. In case you’ve lived under a rock lemme give you a quick lesson on this day and the amazing things surrounding it with the people who make it happen.
The Kentucky Derby is a horse race held annually at Churchill Downs for the last 143 years. It’s also known as the best two minutes in sports. Giddy up!
While these two minutes make champions there are so many minutes taken to plan this day and every event celebrating it. *Watch for blogs this week on things to do to that celebrate this tradition.
To keep up with this week you must be prepared on all levels.
Girls, get your bags! We’ve got some organizing to do.
1. Bags in bags:
Bag essentials can vary per person depending upon need and scheduled days. For me, I need to make sure I’m ready for work, meetings, volunteering, press moments, and more. I’m on the go everywhere this week and plan pn doing it with style and a little bit of grace. Gold clutch doubling as a make-up bag this week. Function and fashion for the win!
2. The pains of running.
Glide for runners is phenomenal at saving your feet from your heels. Granted it’s nothing guaranteed so bring your bandages and Midol. Midol for an energy boost and pain from those heels. Pack other necessities as needed.
3. Charging game so strong.
Portable chargers save my life every day but Derby week I carry two for work.
4. Sunshine + Water.
Two things you need in life and this week. Did Louisville Water Company provides water to about 850000 people in Louisville? Bonus: They were voted the best tasting water nationally in 2015. Stay hydrated, homies!
5. Always ready.
Snacks.
Hairspray.
Sanitizer.
Inhaler – Asthma life.
Mints.
Must I say more?
6. Tech friendly.
Social media is at an all-time this week and this beauty is battling through each day with me. Keys to my success, literally.
7. Reminders.
You will get through this week. Just breathe and make to-do lists.
8. Mother’s Day is coming!
Don’t forget that Mother’s Day is on the horizon. With that I’m making this book for my mom. Memories and thoughts are so sweet. When we read them it’s like living the time all over again.
