If you were asked to describe the kindest person you’ve ever known, what words would you say?
Would you write that they’re kind or would that word feel too simple?
How about generous, giving, humble, noble, forgiving, lighthearted, sympathetic, or thoughtful?
There are various words I could say about one kind soul that I know and none would ever fit to match what she is because she’s truly unlike any other person I’ve ever met. She’s all of those words and then some. I think anyone that knows her would tell you the same.
I’ve traveled with this beautiful woman through different places in geographically and through the last five years of friendship. She’s been a gentle reminder of the love that exists in the world when I felt there was no hope of it showing its face back into my life.
She gives without the expectation to receive. She loves all that are in her life and she’s warm and welcome to every person I’ve ever introduced her to or watched her meet. She’s angelic and as her and soft. But soft isn’t a bad thing in this case. It actually makes her all the more attractive because she’s vulnerable and allows her to be a wonderful woman that she is.
She sells beautiful crystal by day and saves furbabies by night. She reflects the love and light within her so freely back into the lives of other humans and animals alike.
If you haven’t met her yet, please allow me to introduce, Johnna of Louisville.
1. What do I love about the city of Louisville?
I have lived my entire life in Louisville – the last 15 in the Highlands. I love having Tyler Park & Cherokee Park, amazing restaurants, and the beautiful architecture of the homes right outside my door.
2. How long have I been a volunteer?
I started volunteering in the early 90’s. I’ve volunteered a lot but mostly with animal rescue organizations!
3. Why do you volunteer with Animal Care Society? What makes it important to you?
The fact that they are a no kill shelter is what first drew me the organization. We are a small group that truly cares about the animals!!
On a side note: I adopted my cat Dylan from A in 1991 and he will always hold a special place in my heart as will ACS for rescuing him!
4. What’s the easiest way for others to help?
– Volunteer your time either at the shelter or at one of our fundraising events.
– Adopt a new best friend from the ACS
– Donate or attend one of our many fundraisers
5. How would you describe your personal style?
Classic and timeless.
Her style is both of those things; classic and timeless. However, she forgot to also say that she as a human is also that way. She’s in a rare percentage of humans. The world is truly a much better place just for her existence.
