Here’s a MCM for my guy written by one of my dear friends before my wedding.
So I’ve been saving this story for a little bit so I could tell you closer to the wedding – and now feels like the right time.
I have to admit that when we all went to Charleston I was still very much on the fence about Rick. Now obviously, my loyalty has always been and will always be to you. I trusted your judgement, but I worried. He hurt you before. You are so forgiving. It is the thing I love most about you, but it scares me because I know people take advantage of your kindness.
But when we went to Charleston, and we all climbed up into the tower of that house to take pictures, I took this picture of Rick:
And he was looking at you. And only you. A million people were talking around us. We were taking selfies and laughing, taking in the gorgeous sunset, the view. But he only had eyes for you. That look on his face was so full of love. So full of care. He was a sailor lost at sea, looking up at a lighthouse. He was a man ready to make atonement, looking at the woman who gave him everything and never stopped loving him.
That was when I really gained confidence in the man you’re about to marry. I truly believe that you two have fought the good fight and grown a healthy and loving relationship. You truly make each other better. I am so happy to see you marry each other, and so honored to be included. I love you both.
*Thank you for your love and friendship, Elizabeth Grace.
